Natan Jaeger is a multi-disciplinary designer from London working in sculpture, furniture, art, textile, graphic design, photography and film.
Many people will look outwardly for inspiration. I prefer to look inward, focusing on the intricate detail of my surroundings. My favourite artist, David Hockney, talks about the importance of looking, in order to fully absorb your environment. “I believe that the very process of looking can make a thing beautiful”. The practice of studying an object or piece of design in an obsessive manner is, to me, the most satisfying process for finding inspiration for new projects. I am driven by the ability one has as a designer to extract articles of interest from the world that would ordinarily be ignored, and elevate them in a way to be appreciated by others.
